All Heart And Soul At Summerside

The exceptional season continues for Heart And Soul, as he defeated his Sunday afternoon (Oct. 25) featured foes for his seventh win of the season at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

Jason Hughes pointed the son of Western Paradise to the lead in the $2,900 Preferred Pace and was virtually unchallenged on his way to a 1:57.1 front-end score for trainer George Riley and owner Riley Farms Ltd. of Summerside. Pictonian Storm (who was driven by Ken Murphy) snuck up the rail to deliver a second-place finish at odds of 44-1 while Woodmere Chella (Gilles Barrieau) completed the $445.75 triactor.

Corey MacPherson celebrated a pair of winners during the card to extend his lead in the driving standings to 30 seasonal victories. MacPherson scored with Badlands Giovanna (2:02.1) for trainer Brady Sweet and with Private Dancer (2:00.4) from the Paul Conway barn.

Adam Merner found the wire first in three races of the day aboard Best Brew (2:01.2) in a 17-length maiden breaking romp for trainer Ricky Armstrong, Windmerenoharmdone (1:59.4) for trainer Travis Wilkie and Diamond Call (1:58.1) from the Ron Gass stable. The three victories put Merner in second place among reinsman at 29 wins at Red Shores Summerside in 2020 while David Dowling sits third with 28 driving wins with two programs left to go on the season.
