MacDonald Wins Five At Rideau

Driver John MacDonald enjoyed a solid Thursday evening at Rideau Carleton Raceway thanks to his five-win performance on the 15-race card.

MacDonald got things rolling with a victory behind Merited Victory (1:57.1) in Race 4. The gelding drew clear to win by 11-3/4 lengths for trainer John MacMillan. MacDonald was back to victory lane just two races later thanks to a front-stepping score with Long Life (1:56.2.).

Here Comes Annie (1:59.1) wired up the foes she faced in Race 6, and in doing so she gave MacDonald his third win on the card. Victory Nut (1:58) rallied to an impressive win in Race 12 to give MacDonald his fourth win on the program and Done Fooln Witcha (1:54) blew away the rivals she squared off with in the finale to give MacDonald his fifth tally of the night.

The horseman from Russell, ON has already registered 206 wins this season and more than 2,500 to date. He’s in the midst of his seventh consecutive season with earnings of at least $1 million, and his lifetime total recently went over $13 million.
