Things are heating up atop the leader board in the race to see which trainer can win the most number of races on the WEG circuit in 2010
. Ben Baillargeon leads the way with 83 winners, but Richard Moreau is suddenly knocking on the door.
Moreau bumped his win total to 80 thanks to a three-win performance at Woodbine Racetrack during Monday evening’s 10-race program.
Teaming up with Sylvain Filion for all three victories, Moreau took the opener with Western Expression in a time of 1:52.3 and then added wins with One More Drink (1:51.3) in Race 5 and Mr Genesis (1:56.2) in Race 7.
The 2010 season marks the eleventh consecutive season in which horses trained by Moreau have banked in excess of $1 million in earnings. His barn recently surpassed the $1.7 million mark this season thanks in large part to his day-to-day racing on the WEG circuit. He recently went over $25 million in lifetime earnings.
