Beau Jangles, the Horse of the Year in both Canada and the U.S. in 2025, will be sold later this year.
A son of Cattlewash-Mrs Major Hill, Beau Jangles is reported to be the first current Horse of the Year to be offered at public auction. He will sell as part of a three-horse partnership dispersal in the supplement to the Standardbred Horse Sale in Harrisburg, Pa. on Friday, Nov. 6.
Beau Jangles is owned by Graham Grace Stables LLC of Clifton, Va., Kiwi Stables LLC of La Plata, Md. and Bolton Stables of Clermont, Fl. with driver James MacDonald joining the group earlier this month. Beau Jangles sports a career record of 18-1-3 in 27 starts with $2,264,597 in earnings and a mark of 1:47.2 taken at The Red Mile.
Consigned by Bob Boni’s Northwood Bloodstock Agency, Beau Jangles will be joined by two-year-old trotting colt Yankee Boss 2,1:52 – ’26 ($259,010), a stakes-winning son of Captain Corey who raced in the 2026 Breeders Crown, and O'Brien Award winner Call Me Goo 4,1:50.4 ($1,441,236), now in foal to Chapter Seven and carrying her first foal, as part of the partnership dispersal.
“It is truly a privilege to represent one of the most dominant pacing colts of the modern era in Beau Jangles as his undefeated two-year-old campaign was culminated by his powerful Breeders Crown victory for driver Bob McClure and trainer Ian Moore,” Boni remarked. “With his exceptional breeding potential this is truly a unique opportunity and in my 50 plus years of coming to Harrisburg I cannot think of any that could rival him. Without a doubt he possesses every quality to be a great pacing stallion in any program.”
Longtime owner and partner Adam Ainspan of Graham Grace Stables, who selected Beau Jangles, called him “the greatest horse we have ever had and a champion by every measure,” and Garth Bolton of Bolton Stables and Jonathan Roberts of Kiwi Stables also commented on their champions “commanding physical presence and charisma and limitless ability and the great joy that he brought to so many.” All agreed on how much they now look forward to his next chapter and the anticipation of his producing stakes winning colts and fillies in his image.
“It has been an honour to work with this ownership group and to represent the very best our sport has to offer” Boni continued. “There is only one Beau Jangles and the memory of his record-setting undefeated two-year-old season will never be forgotten. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and someone will be leaving Harrisburg with one of the greatest young pacing champions that we have ever seen.”
On Thursday in Harrisburg, Call Me Goo will sell as Hip #1600 and Yankee Boss will sell as Hip #1601. Beau Jangles will sell as Hip #1602 on Friday, Nov. 6, and a fertility report for Beau Jangles will be available at the sale.
