Making his first appearance since this past April, older pacer Powertrain dusted off the rust during the session of qualifiers on Friday, Oct. 24 at Woodbine Mohawk Park and scored impressively with an on-the-engine effort.

Driver James MacDonald pointed the seven-year-old son of Shadow Play - Mmillion Blue Chip to the top from post six and made every call a winning one. After fractions of :28.4, :57.3 and 1:26.3, Powertrain plowed home in :27.1 for the 1:53.4 score. Lous World (Jody Jamieson) was 1-1/2 lengths back in second after following throughout, with Tricky McWicky (Doug McNair) next across the wire.

Nick Gallucci trains the Millar Farms-owned homebred, a winner of 15 races lifetime and $472,065 in purses.
