Odds-on favourite Thomas P Two, having won in both preliminaries, took command early and put away his competition to post a 1:58 victory in winning the $23,200 Autumn Series Final at Flamboro Downs on Sunday (Oct. 24).
Trainer-driver Wayne Henry hustled Thomas P Two off the car to lead the sextet through a :28.2 quarter and face minimal challenge through the mile. He snagged a breather to a :58.1 half before accelerating into the backstretch to three-quarters in 1:27.3. Around the final turn, the Angus Hall colt widened his lead over pocket-sitter Muscles D Oro and coasted through the lane to win by 4-1/2 lengths. Dirt gave chase to finish third and Q Tip took fourth.
Now riding a five-race win streak off his series’ sweep, Thomas P Two has banked $27,120 for owner Mark Wamp and returned $2.60 to win.
