Get Your Armor paced home for her 50th victory, winning the fifth race at MGM Northfield Park on Saturday (Oct. 24).
The 10-year-old veteran, with 293 career starts, also has 49 seconds and 45 third-place finishes.
Get Your Armor (American Ideal-Mystic Money-Nihilator) has career earnings of $518,367 with a lifetime mark of 1:52.2, taken at Northfield Park at age seven. The pacer’s richest win was for a purse of $14,000 in a Fillies and Mares Open at Northfield Park, an event she has won multiple times. Get Your Armor has only won on two racing surfaces. She has six victories at Saratoga Raceway in 2014. Since then she has scored 44 times on Northfield’s Flying Turns.
Get Your Armor started from the pylons in the Saturday’s $5,500 conditioned event. She sat fourth through the :26.3 and :55.1 initial splits before starting her first-over bid. Get Your Armor took the lead by the 1:24.1 three-quarter clocking and won by two-and-a-quarter lengths. The $4.20 winner posted a final time of 1:53.
