The horse may be named No Plan Intended, but driver Jason Hughes had a plan as he sent the pacer to the lead and scored in the Saturday afternoon (Oct. 22) top class at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Leaving from post five in the $3,500 Preferred Pace, No Plan Intended was hustled off the wings and cleared past the opening quarter of :28, then drove away through fractions of :56.3 and 1:25.4 to stop the clock in 1:53.4. Navalny (Adam Merner) was second best and Fern Hill General (Brodie MacPhee) took third. The winning son of Up The Credit hails from the Jennifer Doyle stable with the trainer sharing ownership with Danny Birt of Earnscliffe. The victory was one of two on the day for Doyle, with Mantario (David Dowling) winning the afternoon finale in 1:56.1.

Race 10 was in memory Of Jerome Campbell. Acrobat Hanover delivered in that race as the heavy favourite in 1:54.2 for driver Marc Campbell, trainer and co-owner Lenny Myers and co-owners Liam and Matty Myers and Robin Lajeunesse.

Campbell had four winners on the day as he widens his dash title lead for the 13th straight season. The Orwell driver won with Fern Hill Gusto (1:55.4 winning mile) and Nibbler (2:01.2) from his own stable and with Zack The Men for trainer Mike MacDonald of Vernon Bridge.

Live racing continues Monday evening at 6 p.m. (ADT) at Red Shores Summerside.
