Karen Walls’ Elite Awards completed a sweep of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund events at Harrington Raceway by winning Tuesday’s $100,000 final in 1:55.

Trained by David Rearic and driven by George Dennis, the Powerful Toy gelding equaled his track record that he set in his win on October 8. Elite Awards raced from off the pace as Hawker fired from post eight and set fractions of :27.4, :57.2 and 1:27 while Elite Awards mounted his attack first over and began to edge clear of Hawker at the top of the stretch. Elite Awards soon drew clear by three lengths over Above The Storm and Hawker. Elite Awards paid $2.40.

“He’s a great horse to drive,” said Dennis, who also won the two-year-old pacing filly final on Monday. “Dave Rearic has done a nice job with him and I’m glad for the opportunity to drive him.”

It was part of a four-win night for Dennis (141 wins), who pulled ahead in the driver standings with a two win lead over three-time defending champ Ross Wolfenden (139) with two nights of racing left. Allan Davis is third with 137.

One of Dennis’ four wins came with Lorrie Please ($3) in the overnight feature, the $19,000 Mares Open who prevailed over a fast closing Cooking The Books and I Know Nothing in 1:53.4. Trained by Doug Lewis, Lorrie Please notched her tenth win of the year
