Carols Comet stalked wicked fractions from the pocket, then zipped by in the Lightning Lane to capture Tuesday’s $20,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

Foreclosure N took the field through a speedy three-quarters in 1:22.4 but could not shake Carols Comet. When Aaron Merriman pointed Carols Comet to the Lightning Lane, the four-year-old Yankee Cruiser-Modern Medicine gelding poured through and downed Foreclosure N by three-quarters of a length in 1:50.2 - matching his career best. Perrito Caliente earned show.

Ron Potter trains Carols Comet, who now boasts $215,114 in lifetime earnings, for Whiskey Tango Stable, Martin Presser, Bill Moore and Matthew Moore.

Dave Palone drove four winners and Mike Wilder three on the 15-race card.
