Friday night in the featured $9,000 Open Trot, Jack Flanigen steered Tuesdays With Mom to success with flying colours

.

Tuesdays With Mom took off from the five-hole for the early lead, but not until Technicallybroadway (Keith Kash Jr.) argued the fact in a brisk :27.4 quarter. Once Tuesdays With Mom made the front, the field literally chased her the rest of the way. She made it to the half in :58.1, and was a good four lengths ahead by the three-quarter pole in 1:27.4. Tuesdays With Mom trotted the rest of the way without urging and she won by two lengths in 1:58.4.

The lone mare in the field of eight paid $3.80 to win. Manfromnantucket (Jim McNeight) rushed up for second and Technicallybroadway hung on for third. This was Tuesdays With Mom’s fourth win in 10 starts this season for owner and trainer Peter Arrigenna of Piffard, New York.

Flanigen hit a triple on the card also winning the first race with Ferris Wheel ($4.00) and the 11th race with Hello Carlo ($5.10).

The $4,000 C.K.G. Billings Amateur Pace took place at the Downs as well Friday evening. Pan Au Chocolat and driver Anthony Ciuffetelli took the early lead from the gate and held it all the way to win in a time of 1:59.3. He paid $10 to win for owner Rocco Stebbins and trainer Ron Stebbins.

John Cummings Jr. had an outstanding night with four victories. He won the second race with Masters Trackster ($6.30), the third with Monkey Off My Back ($15.40), the fourth with The Midas Man $3.90, and the sixth with So Tuffian ($17.60).
