"This new position gives me a chance to roll up my sleeves and work toward moving the industry ahead, while creating jobs in the Fraser Valley. Horse racing is about people, horses and families and our biggest challenge is protecting
those jobs."
The above quote, from an article by The Province, is attributed to Harness Racing BC's new part-time CEO, Doug McCallum. HRBC announced last week that McCallum, a former mayor of Surrey that has been out of politics for years, will be helping revitalize harness racing in the province.
The article also has a quote from Mystic Maiden's co-owner Brett Currie in regard to the three-year Camystic filly that will be racing this Sunday in an opening-leg division of the Mary Murphy BC Breeders Stakes.
