After a dominant score in last weekend’s Breeders Crown elimination, the connections of three-year-old trotting filly Millies Possesion got some bad news that will unfortunately force the filly to miss this weekend’s lucrative final.
Trainer Jim Campbell told Trot Insider that Millies Possesion has a broken coffin bone in her left front hoof. She's expected to recover but Campbell would not speculate on her future.
Millies Possesion captured her elimination last Saturday in 1:53 for driver Dexter Dunn, who had high praise for the filly following the victory.
It was one of 11 scores from 14 starts for the Fashion Farms LLC homebred who pushed her seasonal earnings over $500,000 with the triumph. The daughter of Possess The Will-Fashion Athena earned a flashy mark of 1:51.1 in a division of the W.N. Reynolds Memorial earlier this summer at The Meadowlands.
Millies Possesion’s scratch from the Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Filly Trot opens the door for also eligible Dark As A Pocket to draw into the rich affair. As per the rules of the stake, Dark As A Pocket will start from Post 10 on Saturday evening.
