Im Won Rum Wiser ($4.40) improved to four-for-four in her young career with a 1:57.1 win in the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) $100,000 Final for two-year-old pacing fillies Monday at Harrington Raceway.
The Headmaster-sired filly advanced first over on pacesetter Seboomook Fool Yah, who strolled through fractions of :28.1, :58.1 and 1:27.3. Im Won Rum Wiser then edged clear at the wire and held off a fierce late rally by Crushed Again, who was second. Seboomook Fool Yah was third in an incredibly tight photo finish.
Im Won Rum Wise is owned by trainer/driver George Dennis, Tina Dennis and The Wiz Kids Stable. The filly is a homebred out of Dennis’ broodmare La Gloria Cubana and sire Headmaster, whom Wiz Kids Stable's Frank Deliberti owned until recently.
In the overnight feature, Jlrl LLC’s Rock On Moe ($13.40, Allan Davis) captured the $19,000 Open Pace in wire-to-wire fashion in 1:54.1 for trainer Rosemary Smutz.
Earlier on the program, driver Bret and Elizabeth Brittingham’s Raritan Bay won his ninth consecutive race for trainer Don Brittingham.
The pacing colts will take center stage Tuesday on the Harrington program as arch rivals Elite Awards (5-2) and Hawker (3-1) are set to match up in a field of eight in their $100,000 final, scheduled 10th on the 15-race program. Wednesday will feature the trotting finals for fillies and colts as the Harrington meet winds down its final week of racing for 2013.
