'Pap' Kicks Off Burke Five-Bagger

Desperate for late room, Run And Tell Pap found it in the Lightning Lane and brushed to victory in Monday’s $18,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Run And Tell Pap was enjoying a pocket trip behind his stablemate, Summer Indian, when the 19-1 Rembrandt Spur rallied wide in the stretch with plenty of momentum. Mike Wilder steered Run And Tell Pap to the Lightning Lane just in time and the six-year-old High Falls-Adeles Jade gelding defeated the unlucky Rembrandt Spur by a head in 1:54.2. Summer Indian saved show.

Ron Burke trains Run And Tell Pap, who extended his career bankroll to $421,371, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and M1 Stable.

Burke fashioned a five-bagger on the 15-race card while Dave Palone drove four winners. Wilder and Aaron Merriman each notched a triple.
