Final 2013 Stats For Fredericton

Horse Racing New Brunswick is pleased to announce the top trainer, driver, and owners for the 2013 racing meet at Fredericton Raceway.

Gilles Barrieau pulled out a tight victory as the top driver at the New Brunswick track with 19 wins on the season. That topped Todd Trites who was second with 17 wins. Gord Hennessey rounding out the top trio.

Barrieau also led in money with over $23,000 earned by his starters. Trites and Hennessey finished second and third, respectively, in the category.

In the percentage category, Barrieau wrapped up the meet with a sparkling .440 average. Mike Downey finished second-best with a .398 average and Gord Hennessey was third with a .316 average.

The top trainer for 2013 in terms of wins was Brian Embleton, who enjoyed a superb meet with 14 wins, but just one more than Mike Downey who checks in with 13 wins. Mike Campbell and Bob MacNeil each had six wins from their stables to tie for third.

Top owner of the 2013 season at Fredericton was Dr. Mitchell Downey, who owned the papers on 10 winners this year.
