Boots N Bling walked all over the field in the $8,500 Autumn Series split on Sunday, Oct. 20 at Flamboro Downs.
This Autumn Series event features two- and three-year-old Ontario-sired pacing fillies who are non-winners of $10,000 lifetime.
Leaving from post five as the 1-9 favourite in the field of nine, Boots N Bling was handled confidently by driver Brett MacDonald. MacDonald hustled to the front end early, speeding to the quarter in :27.4. MacDonald then slowed the pace down to the half in :57.4 before scampering away by four lengths at three-quarters in 1:27.1. The lead expanded in the final stanza, with Boots N Bling crossing the line 6-1/2 lengths clear in 1:57. Docs Love (Travis Cullen) rallied from the backfield to finish second and Allstar Willow (Travis Henry) finished third.
The three-year-old rookie daughter of Betterthancheddar-Cowgirl Tough has three victories, with each of them coming consecutively in her five-start campaign. The homebred is owned by Joanne Colville and trainer Emma Christoforou.
Originally scheduled as the second division of the Autumn Series on Oct. 13, a mid-card cancellation moved the remaining division to Sunday's card. The first division was won by Rollthebet in 2:01.1 in sloppy conditions.
