Ann rebounded from her off-the-board finish in her 2023 Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final with a confident qualifying score over less than ideal conditions on Friday, Oct. 20 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
With Bob McClure at the controls, Ann was the fraction-setter in the second qualifier of the morning, leading her freshman foes through splits of :28.2, :59.4 and 1:29.3 before pacing home in :28 to trip the timer in 1:57.3. The AGCO Judges listed the track as sloppy and applied a two-second variant.
Ann (Hes Watching - Addicted To Love) is trained by Dr. Ian Moore for Jim & Wilma MacKenzie of Ennismore, Ont. The OSS Gold leg winner sports a 2-0-1 summary from four outings with $63,860 in earnings.
