Strike An Attitude, driven by Randy Waples, surpassed $1 million in career earnings on Friday evening at Woodbine Racetrack.
The homebred daughter of Western Hanover-Strike A Balance captured a $20,000 conditioned event for Hall of Fame trainer Robert McIntosh, who shares ownership of the mare with CSX Stables and J And T Silva.
The 10-time winner sat behind factions of :26.3, :55 and 1:22.3, before Waples showed her open racetrack down the stretch and she responded to score by a neck in 1:51.3 over MC Taylor. Day To Ponder was third.
“She’s just a terrific mare,” said Waples of the four-year-old. “The fractions really set up tonight and she benefited from that. It was a great thrill to have her surpass $1 million with a victory.”
Strike An Attitude, a winner of $1,008,898, is a former world record holder for a three-year-old pacing filly with a 1:48.4 winning effort last year at The Red Mile.
She paid $11 to win for the first time this year.
