Live harness racing will return to The Raceway at Western Fair District on Friday, Oct. 3.

The Standardbreds will be in the spotlight at the London, Ont. half-mile oval three nights a week this fall, every Monday, Tuesday and Friday at 5:50 p.m.

The 2025-2026 meet will begin this Friday with a 10-race card featuring four $20,000 finals of the Prospect Series for Ontario-sired three-year-olds headlined by Stmikes Kerryblues, who is undefeated in his eight series starts at different tracks across the province competing in the trotting colt and gelding division for trainer Kyle Fellows. Damian MacLellan drove the Green Manalishi S-Wilsonator gelding in five of those Prospect preliminary victories and will be back aboard looking for the championship title in the evening's fourth race, starting from post five.

The other Prospect finals feature divisional point leaders Royal Sauce in the filly trot (race two), Justine Ray in the filly pace (race six) and Five Star Lou in the colt and gelding pace (race eight).

Western Fair will also host the two-year-old Prospect Series finals on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

Other upcoming events at the track include the 20th anniversary edition of Harness The Hope on Friday, Oct. 17 in support of breast cancer awareness and research; Caretaker Appreciation Night on Monday, Nov. 10, honouring the dedicated individuals behind the scenes; the Driver’s Holiday Challenge on Tuesday, Dec. 9 in support of Toys for Tots; as well as Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve programs with festive racing events to close out the year.
