Freehold Raceway hosted the $40,000 Renaissance final for two-year-old pacing colts on Saturday, September 30, and Lucky Leonard and Melanies Fran comprised the field.
Lucky Leonard and Jordan Stratton opted for the front when the gate folded.
The pocket sitting Melanies Fran, who is a Hypnotic Blue Chip gelding, stalked the leader.
Melanies Fran eventually pulled in mid-stretch and went on to post a nose victory in 2:01.2.
The Kevin McDermott trainee has now won four of her six career starts.
Owned by Francis Azur, Melanie Fran has now pushed her lifetime earnings to $117,000.
