See The Wind Wins Pink Ribbon Trot

See The Wind saw nothing but racetrack in front of him capturing the 2016 Pink Ribbon $15,000 Open Trot at Hollywood Dayton Raceway on Saturday (October 1) night.

Driver Chris Page sent the Ron Burke trainee directly to the front when the Mike Woebkenberg mobile starting gate opened its wings. After sailing unchallenged through fractions of :27.1, :56.2 and 1:25, the five-year-old son of Deweycheatumnhowe was able to fend off the late charge of Rockn Stien (Josh Sutton) by a long neck to garner his second win in a dozen seasonal starts. Parkhill Lancelot (Randy Tharps) was also closing well in the stretch to finish third in the full field.

Burke Racing Stable LLC and Weaver Bruscemi LLC co-own See The Wind, who banked almost $200,000 as a juvenile stakes colt, and has added almost $75,000 over the last two seasons.

The second annual Pink Ribbon Trot was part of a day-long effort at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway to raise funds to benefit The Breast Cancer Foundation of Dayton. Activities included a 5K run/walk on the five-eighths mile racetrack in the morning, the sale of Pink Ribbon Trot t-shirts, and numerous silent auction items available for bidding in the racing grandstand.
