Formal Affair, with Mark Bradley in the bike, won the featured $2,500 Winners Over Pace Saturday night over a rain soaked track at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The invitational star, trained by David Rose, took over the lead from Outlawpositivcharg past the half and cruised to a seven length victory in 2:00.1. Racing officials rated the sloppy track four second off. Formal Affair, owned by Dale and Ronnie Rennie of Elmsdale, P.E.I., turned back Outlawpositivcharg (Terry Gallant) for second and Serious Damage (Brodie MacPhee) for third. Breaker Blue Star Outlaw (Jason Hughes) trailed the field, which was reduced to four after two scratches.

The win was the six-year-old son of Real Desire's seventh of the season in 12 starts.

Driver Brodie MacPhee posted four victories on the card. MacPhee scored with Pownal Bay Lassie and MG Hurricane before the half-way point of the program then drove Roscoes Child to the fastest mile of the night in an impressive 1:58.3 before closing with Travolta in the next race.
