More Racing For Quebec

Published: October 2, 2010 10:09 am EDT

Hippodrome de Quebec adds a second afternoon card to its weekly schedule, Sundays, starting this weekend.

The Quebec City track also is kicking off its initial fall series for Quebec-bred trotters and pacers aged 2 and 3 with preliminary events today and tomorrow carrying purses of $5,000.

Several of the entrants have raced with success outside the province this year, including Lorenzo Dream, a 3-year-old Taurus Dream trotter who captured the $60,000 Tie Silk final at Woodbine in April, four-time winners Sambucca Mystic and Petite Courageuse, and Beijing, a 2-year-old Shanghai Phil filly with a mark of 1:55 at Mohawk.

The leading driver after two programs in Quebec City is Melanie Plourde, who won with half her eight drives.

Post time today and tomorrow is 1 p.m.
