Canada's leading trainer Richard Moreau and driver Alfie Carroll doubled up in Sunday night's Preferred quartet at Flamboro Downs with Adkins Hanover and Racey Miss.
Returning to Flamboro where he was a winner in the same class on Sept. 28, Adkins Hanover ($4.20) went wire-to-wire to score a three length victory in 1:53.3 in the featured $11,000 Preferred 2 for horses and geldings. Carroll drove the five-year-old Western Ideal gelding for Moreau and co-owner Sylvain Descheneaux. Clic K and Goldstar Badlands finished second and third, respectively.
Carroll and Moreau also teamed up for a victory in the $7,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 as Hudson Standardbred Stable's four-year-old Shanghai Phil mare Racey Miss ($3.50) wore down sophomore filly Double Joy to prevail by one length in 1:57.2.
Driven by J.R. Plante for the Joe Pereira stable, After Alimony ($17.90) won the $10,000 Preferred 2 for fillies and mares in 1:56.4 while Get Around Town ($14.60) prevailed in the $7,000 Preferred 3 for horses and geldings in 1:56 with Bob McClure aboard for trainer Vernon Cochrane and owner Alan Bodin.
