A race that was assessed to be a wide-open affair was the OSS Super Final for three-year-old pacing fillies, and a regal effort from Rose Run Victoria placed her into the winner's circle.

Driver Jody Jamieson floated Rose Run Victoria away from post eight as Karma Seelster (Sylvain Filion) and Alicorn (Louis-Philippe Roy) took turns on the lead, before Alicorn took over and fronted the field through fractions of :27, :55 and 1:23.1. Favoured Lauras Love (Bob McClure) was situated second over behind All Day Sunshine (James MacDonald) with Rose Run Victoria third over. In the stretch, Lauras Love and Rose Run Victoria both fanned out and despite the overland journey Rose Run Victoria outkicked them all to win in 1:51.1. Lauras Love and Karma Seelster finished second and third respectively.

"This trip, tonight, was the best trip you could possibly get with the eight hole. I ended up being parked the whole way but this mare's been sharp her last three or four starts and showed that finishing kick she's got if you can save it down the stretch.

"You never know around that last turn but when Bob's filly swung three wide and I was still up tight on his helmet I thought I had a pretty good chance to get good money, and then we got it all so it worked out. Rod Boyd and his team had her really good."

Boyd trains Rose Run Victoria (Hes Watching - Victoria Gallery) for owners Rick D Phillips of Tappan, N.Y. and Mark Harder of Freehold, N.J. Oicking up her third win of the season, Rose Run Victoria lifted her bankroll to $278,846.

This race was one of eight Ontario Sires Stakes Super Finals contested on Saturday, Oct. 17. Check out the rest of the recaps in the OSS Super Final News Centre.
