Credit List and Warrawee Unique won the co-features at Vernon Downs on Saturday (Oct. 16).
Credit List captured the $7,500 Open I Trot.
Discus Hanover went to the front and led to the first quarter in :28. He used a :29.4 second quarter to hit the half in :57.4. Double Dealing was first to make a move first-over but went on a break. Then Discus Hanover went on a break just before three-quarters. Credit List then went to the front and led to three-quarters in 1:27.
As they reached the stretch, it was all Credit List to win easily in 1:56.1. Spoiler Alert was second best. Hotfoot Hannah finished third.
Credit List is a six-year-old gelding by Credit Winner. He is owned by Jonathan Applebaum and trained by driver Justin Huckabone. Credit List wins for the 12th time this season. He now has 23 victories. He paid $3.80 to win.
Warrawee Unique crushed the field to win the $7,500 Open Pace.
Warrawee Unique charged off the gate and went right to the front and led to the first quarter in :27.4. A :28.4 second quarter got him to the half in :56.3. He breezed to three-quarters in 1:23.4.
As they made the turn for home, the race was for second as Warrawee Unique cruised to the easiest of wins in 1:51. Gunpowder N finished second. Major Leaguer (Jimmy Whittemore) collected third-place money.
Warrawee Unique is a five-year-old gelding by Sweet Lou. He is owned by Betcha Win Stable LLC and trained by Jeff Sorenson. It was his seventh win this season and his 15th victory. Leon Bailey drove the $2.30 winner.
Bailey drove four winners on the card. He got his other wins with Phoenix ($4.00), Mr Dunnigans ($4.50) and he combined once again with trainer Sorenson to win with Samson J ($9.30). Justin Huckabone drove three winners on the night. He got his other wins with Ulysses Bi ($7.30) and trained his other winner, Lyons Pegasus ($4.30).
Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Friday (Oct. 22) with a post time of 6:10 p.m. (EDT).
