Tony Hall enjoyed a splendid Wednesday (Oct. 16) at The Meadows, collecting seven victories that included a four-race, mid-card winning streak as well as a triumph in the feature with Trixie Dust.
Hall’s haul included a pair of wins each for trainers Scott Betts and Spencer Kahrig.
In that feature, a $13,500 conditioned trot, Hall moved Trixie Dust third over down the backside. The five-year-old daughter of Winning Mister-Emma J peeled off cover into the final turn and knifed through the sloppy stretch to score in 1:55.4, a head better than I Want Kandy. Gural Hanover, who needed a victory to eclipse $1 million in career earnings, finished third and will have to get that milestone mile another day.
Betts conditions Trixie Dust, who now boasts $192,430 in career earnings, for Timothy Betts, Stephen Moss and Nicholas Catalano.
Mike Wilder fashioned a triple on the 13-race card, including two victories for trainer Todd Rooney.
Live racing at The Meadows resumes Saturday (Oct. 19), when the card features three rich wagering opportunities: a $1,274.78 carryover in the Pick 4 (races 3-6); a $753.08 carryover in the Pick-5 (races 2-6); a $3,052 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 1:05 p.m.
