Atlantic Breeders Crown champion Paymenowpaymelater is back to perform in the Maritime Breeders Eliminations for three-year-old trotters Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

It’s one of four major showdowns on the card that also includes the open trot, mares open and preferred pace with Clic K gunning for redemption against a power-packed field. Post time is 6:00 p.m.

Paymenowpaymelater, fresh off being crowned an Atlantic Breeders Crown champion last weekend, gets post 4 in the $3,000 event for trainer Earl Watts, driver Marc Campbell and owner Wade Peconi, Stanchel, PE. The daughter of Northern Bailey has earned $58,140 in her two years of racing with $27,278 coming in 2015 that includes seven victories from 10 starts. JK Blaze (Walter Cheverie) and Tyne Valley (Kenny Arsenault) are second and third choice respectively on the morning line. The race will be called to the starting gate at 7:25 p.m. AST.

General Luckypercy headlines the mares open in race 10 for team Matheson. Ron will be in the bike for his daughter Jodi Lynn who owns the nine-year-old trained by her brother Jackie. The mare just recorded her 50th lifetime win but will have to fend off Ramblinglily (Walter Cheverie) from post 2 while stablemate For All We Know lands on the pylons for owner Bruce Wood, Marshfield, PE.

In other action, Clic K (Matheson) will try to start a new winning streak when it came to an end last weekend after being caught behind a breaking horse past the opening quarter pole. It won’t be an easy assignment with Oh To Be Me, Forever Paradise, Painted Desert, All Turain and Machinthesand entered to compete. Pleasure Girls, owned by Shelley Gass, Cornwall, PE, get the top call in the open trot in race 4.

Red Shores Summerside Sunday Preview

Outside the Wire is the classifier’s choice in the after top class Sunday at Red Shores Summerside. Post time is 1:00 p.m.

Jason Hughes is listed to drive the pacer for trainer Craig Avery from post 5 and takes on top guns such as Athletic Putnam and driver Walter Cheverie and J Rs Hurricane (Norris Rogers). Cheverie is going into the weekend only 12 wins away from 2,500 career victories in the bike. The line-up also includes My Lucky Killean and Lucky Encounter.

The legendary Prince County oval will pay tribute to Stewart family with the Cecil Stewart memorial slated for race 3 with Gigolos Pride as the one to beat while the Wallace stable of Alberton has Long Life off the rail in the Leon Stewart Memorial in race 6.
