Summer Indian shrugged off a demanding first quarter and rolled to his second straight victory in Tuesday’s $20,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Summer Indian was parked through a :26.4 opening panel before grabbing the lead at the three-eighths. The four-year-old Majestic Son-A Touch Of Frost gelding was in charge thereafter, scoring for Dave Palone in 1:53.2. Redder Than Red rallied for second, 1-1/2 lengths back, with Count Me In third.

Ron Burke trains Summer Indian, who now boasts $313,190 in lifetime earnings, for Burke Racing Stable LLC, Jack Piatt III, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and RTC Stables. Burke and Palone teamed for three wins on the 15-race card, and Eric Ledford also fashioned a triple.
