Intimidate Wins Crown Prep

The connections of three-year-old trotting colt Intimidate made headlines earlier today when they anted up $62,500 to supplement their star to this year’s Breeders Crown, and judging by the horse’s win on Monday at Woodbine – it looks like a wise investment.

Intimidate was treated to a second-over trip by driver Sylvain Filion in Monday’s $20,000 conditioned assignment, and the gelded son of Justice Hall-Fabulous Tag didn’t let the golden opportunity go to waste. Filion flipped off cover turning for home and Intimidate used a :27.4 closing panel to win by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:54.4.

Trainer Luc Blais of Lochaber Ouest, QC shares ownership on the 12-time winner with Judith Farrow of Hemmingford, QC. Sent off as the 1-2 favourite, Intimidate improved this year’s record to 11-3-0 from 15 starts with the win. The photogenic performer has banked $132,780 to date.
