Lachance On Whipping, Drivers, The Breed, Night At Rideau Carleton Raceway

As Mike Lachance has geared down his driving schedule in the past few years, the lore of the iconic reinsman seems to grow. While in conversation with Norm Borg on Trot Radio, Lachance provided intriguing comments in regard to whipping rules, young drivers and the current state of the standardbred breed

.

The Trot Radio interview is in advance of 'Mike Lachance Night,' which will be taking place Sunday, October 31 at Rideau Carleton Raceway. The event will see the career winner of over 10,000 races and $185 million in purses battling in races, participating in a 'meet-and-greet' session with fans, and more.

In regard to the last time he made the trek to Rideau, Lachance said, "It was four or five years ago. I came from Toronto for a stakes race. I would say in the last 15 years I have been there (Rideau) three or four times, but that is about it."
