Little Louis will look to add another stakes trophy to his collection and tally his 11th consecutive win on Thursday, Oct. 15 as the Home Hardware Maritime Breeders brings Atlantic Canada's young trotters to Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has a 14-dash presentation starting at 6 p.m., with five Maritime Breeders divisions, presented by Metro Home Building Centre and High Tide Home Hardware Building Centre, carrying a combined $84,450 in purses.
Little Louis is the 5-2 morning-line favourite in the $19,500 three-year-old trotting colt division in the seventh race. Corey MacPherson has the driving assignment from post four for trainer Kuri White and owner-breeder East Coast Captains of Cornwall, P.E.I. The son of E L Rocket-Go With Her has 10 wins and a second from 11 starts this season — an identical statline to his freshman campaign — and $76,345 in 2026 earnings. His latest victory came in the Atlantic Breeders Crown final on Oct. 4, which he dominated by 8-1/4 lengths in a career-best 1:57.1.
Hoponarocket (Mike McGuigan, 3-1) has rail control after finishing second to Little Louis in the Atlantic Breeders Crown final. Howmac Prime Time (Marc Campbell, 7-2) leaves from post three for trainer Landon Campbell.
Kurt Hughes’ Post Time Picks selects Little Louis to win and lists him as the program’s Most Probable Winner.
“Little Louis has quietly won 20 of his 22 career starts and has banked $157,304 here in the Maritimes over the past two years. Incredible numbers for the son of E L Rocket-Go With Her. He comes into this race with a 10-race winning streak, and he loves the front, so I'm betting Corey lets him do what he does best: call the shots from start to finish.”
Stunning Speed headlines the second $15,150 Maritime Breeders two-year-old trotting colt division in the 12th race. Mike McGuigan trains and drives the son of Muscle Through It-Stunning Look for owners Little Pond Stables of Little Pond, P.E.I. and The Coles Stable of Charlottetown, P.E.I. The rookie has won eight of nine starts and banked $56,941, including a 4-1/4-length track-record victory in 1:57.3 in the Atlantic Breeders Crown final. He leaves from the outside post six as the 5-2 favourite.
Hopthroughit (3-1) has the rail for trainer-driver Clare MacDonald and Shoe Dog Speed (Paul Langille, 7-2) is another top contender from post five for trainer Tammy Collings.
The other $15,150 rookie colt division is in the 10th race with I Dream Of Muscles favoured from post three for owner-trainer-driver James Ripley of Amherst, N.S. The son of Muscle Through It-Rich Dreams seeks his first win in his seventh start, aiming to add to a bankroll of $11,496. He was second last out to Hopthroughit and has hit the board four times. Supreme Muscle (McGuigan, 3-1) has post five, while Smokin Rocket (MacPherson, 7-2) leaves from post two.
Rockin Through It will look to build on her Atlantic Breeders Crown victory in the $15,150 two-year-old trotting filly division in the sixth race. McGuigan trains and drives the 5-2 morning-line favourite, who has drawn post three, for Josh MacDonald of Little Pond and The Coles Stable. The daughter of Muscle Through It-Rockadero won the Atlantic Breeders Crown final by seven lengths in a lifetime-best 2:01.3 and has four victories from 10 outings with $42,519 in earnings. Early Speed (Myles Heffernan Sr.) is the 3-1 morning-line second choice from post five, with Howmac Limerick (Jason Hughes) the 7-2 third choice from post four for trainer Blayne White.
Bonmati and Emberlees Rocket will renew their rivalry in the $19,500 three-year-old trotting filly division in the ninth race.
Bonmati has post three with MacPherson aboard for owner-trainer Blayne White of South Pinette, P.E.I. The E L Rocket-Glidetown filly has five wins and four seconds from nine starts this season with $55,990 in bankroll and is the 5-2 morning-line favourite.
Emberlees Rocket defeated Bonmati by 2-1/4 lengths in the Atlantic Breeders Crown final in 2:01. Marc Campbell drives the post-five starter for trainer John Clarey and owner Mike Clarey of Montague, P.E.I. The filly is two-for-six this year with $25,740 earned. Roseys El Girl (Ken Murphy, 7-2) is the third morning-line choice from post four for owner-trainer Bill Lanigan.
