No Contest At Mohawk Park

The sixth race on Thursday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park was ruled a 'No Contest' by the AGCO Judges as a result of a fallen horse shortly after the starting gate sped away from the field.

Whole Nine Yards, in rein to driver Scott Young, made a break and then fell shortly after the start. The horse remained on the track with driver Young tending to it as the remainder of the field continued into the backstretch.

It was at that point the AGCO Judges triggered the 'No Contest' signal to the remaining drivers in the race. As they pulled up their charges, others assisted driver Young with the fallen horse. Whole Nine Yards did eventually get up, and did so with cuts and scrapes. Driver Young appeared to be unharmed in the incident.
