Hensley tag team of trainer Ashleigh and husband Ed combined to win the $11,500 Preferred 2 Pace at Flamboro Downs on Sunday, Oct. 14 when Toot Toot N posted a two-and-one-quarter length victory in 1:53.2.
Toot Toot N sat fourth as Redonkulous posted a :26.4 opening quarter. Ed Hensley soon tipped the seven-year-old Gotta Go Cullen gelding off the rail and after the lead heading to a :56.2 half.
Redonkulous faced a first-over challenge from Toot Toot N through the 1:24.3 third quarter before giving way around the final turn. Toot Toot N strolled into the stretch while Boomboom Ballykeel, on cover, chased in second and Brocks Fortune, up the passing lane, in third.
Owned by Ed and Ashleigh Hensley, Toot Toot N won his 10th race in 34 starts this season and his 16th in 75 overall, earning $96,765. He paid $8.10 to win.
