Clearing control from post four, Imacaroltoo fended off a first-over challenge from favourite Doubleshotascotch to take the $1,000 Winners-Over Pace at Inverness Raceway on Sunday, Oct. 14.
Driver Lanny Hanscombe sent the five-year-old Brandons Cowboy mare to the front heading to a :30.1 opening quarter. Doubleshotascotch, away third, tipped first over before a :59.3 half and drew alongside the pacesetter circling the clubhouse turn. The two battled with a half length separating one another as they passed three-quarters in 1:29.3. Imacaroltoo expanded her lead rounding the final turn and led Doubleshotascotch by two lengths in the lane before hitting the wire in 2:00.2. Tipperbackjack, riding the rail, overtook pocket-sitter Windmeredontmatter for third.
Owned by Raymond Mac Kinnon and Walter Walker, Imacaroltoo won her seventh race in 24 starts and her 14th in 79 overall, earning $14,277. Walter Walker trains the $9.70 winner.
