Trainers Brenda Spence and Mark Steacy each sent out three winners from their respective stables during Friday night’s 15-race card at Rideau Carleton Raceway

Steacy teamed up with driver Gord Brown for his training triple while Spence doubled up with John MacDonald (a four-time winner on the card) and teamed up with Mario Charron to notch her third victory.
Three-year-old Here Comes Herbie filly Out Of The Kitchen ($6.80) kicked off the card for Steacy with a 2:01.4 triumph over the ‘good’ surface. Two-year-old Jeremes Jet filly J Js Tassie Girl ($2.40) was victorious in the fourth race in 1:59.1 and three-year-old Angus Hall filly Radical Janey ($12.80) won the seventh race by a nose in 2:01.1, both repeat winners for Steacy.
The Lansdowne, Ont. resident, a perfect three-for-three on the card, has sent out 73 winners so far this year for over $1.2 million in purse earnings. Steacy’s three victories tonight pushed his overall win total to 1,182. Lifetime, he has amassed more than $14.2 million.
From the Spence stable, three-year-old Camluck filly Sydney Seelster ($5.20) broke her maiden in 1:57.1 and nine-year-old Camluck gelding Isnt He Lucky ($6) romped to an eight length victory in 1:56.3 in the sixth race, both with MacDonald driving. Five-year-old Muscles Yankee gelding V I P, who was part of a Spence training triple last Sunday in Ottawa, trotted to a 1:59.1 triumph with Charron in the bike in the 11th race to complete the Spence triple.
The resident of Orleans, Ont. is enjoying a career year with 57 wins and close to $300,000 in earnings. The career winner of $1.7 million is just two wins away from 300.
