A total of 10 horses were entered Wednesday in the third annual running of the Bobby Quillen Memorial scheduled for Monday, October 19 at Harrington Raceway
.
Two $30,000 eliminations will be held with the top four from each advancing to the $305,000 (est.) final on October 26. The reigning 2008 champ, Joe Muscara’s Mister Big is back for trainer Virgil Morgan. The winner of nearly $4 million lifetime is fresh off a win in the Allerage at the Red Mile. Joining Mister Big in his division are Gerrie Tucker and Keep The Dream Going Inc.’s BB Torio, Gary and Barbara Iles' Frog Juice, Francis Azur’s Blueridge Western and Burke Racing, Weaver Bruscemi, JJK Stables and James Koran’s Mccedes.
The remaining division is headed by a powerful Ronald Burke-trained entry of Strollin Stable, Bill Robinson and James Koehler’s Won The West and Foiled Again, who is owned by Burke Racing, Weaver Bruscemi and JJK Stables. Both horses have earned more than $500,000 in 2009 and will face some high caliber half-mile warriors in Thomas Hill’s Lucky Man, Larry Stalbaum and Mike Sorentino’s Four Trumps A and Frank Bellino’s Psiloveyouheartbreaker.
