Ginger Tree Skyr ($17.40, Corey Callahan) was a wire-to-wire winner in 1:55.4 in the $17,000 featured conditioned trot Wednesday (Oct. 13) at Harrington Raceway.
Ginger Tree Skyr notched his sixth win of the season for trainer and co-owner Nick Callahan, who shares ownership with Yorwollahan Racing Team, Stuart Chambers and Greg Godbout. Corey Callahan sent the five-year-old Explosive Matter gelding to the front, and he relentlessly held off a fierce late charge from Need Luck N for his 16th career win. Quiksilvr Bluechip was third. Ginger Tree Skyr has won three of his four starts over the Harrington half-mile this year.
Later on the card, Elizabeth and Bret Brittingham's Big Secret ($3.00) notched his ninth win of the meet and fourth consecutive win with a front-end score in 1:55.2 in a $7,500 claiming event for pacers. Co-owner Bret Brittingham drove Big Secret to his 11th win of the season.
