It was quite a successful night for horsemen whose initials are CC Tuesday at Harrington Raceway.
Driver Corey Callahan (four wins) and trainer Chuck Crissman (three wins) had the hot hand on the 12-race program.
Callahan and Crissman teamed up with Bret Sliwka's Shezallapples A ($48.40), who was an upset winner in the $18,000 Fillies and Mares Open in 1:53.4.
The seven-year-old Sportswriter mare surged off cover in deep stretch for a one-length win over Artful Dancer and Lil Oreilly. It was her sixth win of the year for the Crissman trainee. Race favourite Artrageous led the field through fractions of :27.2 and :56.4 before receiving heavy pressure from Abuelita Hanover to three-quarters in 1:24.4. Meanwhile, Shezallapples A gathered momentum third-over on the outside and fanned wide at the top of the stretch before drawing clear by a length at the wire.
Montrell Teague also had a driving double.
