Owned and trained by Mike Wade of Little Britain, ON, Mystic Conquest sprinted to the lead from his Post 2 starting spot and had the field lined up behind him at the quarter pole in :27.4. He proceeded to lay down middle splits of :57.1 and 1:26 before kicking home in :29.4 to post the 1:55.4 score – his fastest clocking of the season. Runner-up Naif Normand was a little more than a length in arrears, with Abbey Road C third.
The victory was the fifth of the season in 25 attempts for the 23-time winner who has banked $232,374 in his career.
