With an Island Breeders Championship win in her rearview mirror, After The Lovin continued the momentum in her Atlantic Sires Stakes consolation Saturday afternoon (Oct. 12) on the weekend of champions at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Jason Hughes pointed the daughter of Carnivore to the lead in the $5,000 Atlantic Sires Stakes Breeder’s Crown consolation for three-year-old pacing fillies and never looked back. Through splits of :30, 1:00.1 and 1:29.4 over sloppy conditions After The Lovin paced a final quarter in :29.3 to win by four-and-three-quarter lengths in 1:59.2. Emilys Angel was second and Pickpocketprincess was placed to third.

Tomy Tag guarded the rail in the $5,000 two-year-old pacing colt consolation in progress to a 2:02 victory for driver Ken Murphy, trainer Clifford Murphy and owner Noonan Holdings Ltd. The next two spots went bto Egamer and Windemere Albert.
The two-year-old pacing filly consolation saw Elm Grove Ocean use first-over tactics to win in 2:02.1 for driver Walter Cheverie, trainer Angus Gillis and owner Done For The Day Stable. Second went to Streakazana with Lorne Valley Barb hitting the ticket for third after leaving from post 8.
The final consolation race of the day had Spack Jarrow win the $5,000 three-year-old pacing colt class in 2:00.2 in line to Corey MacPherson for trainer Raymond White and owner Mike Slana. A Grand Terror was second while the $214.10 triactor was completed by Flowersonthebeach.
