Jiminey Three Tops Forest City Sale

Jiminey Three was the 2014 Forest City Yearling Sale topper with a final bid of $85,000 on Sunday at the newly renovated Agriplex at Western Fair District in London, Ont.

Selling as Hip 65, Jiminey Three was purchased by Gaston Bibeau of Sorel Tracy, Que. Consigned by agent Preferred Equine, the filly is sired by Mach Three out of the The Panderosa mare Disneypan and is a full sister to Adventurepan ($136,700 - 1:55.2). She is also a half-sibling of No Pan Intended offspring Tomorrowpan ($546,291 - 1:52), Frontier Pan ($308,309 - 1:51.1) and Fantasy Pan ($224,050 - 1:54).

Ganacus Seelster, Hip 29, was purchased for $68,000 from the Seelster Farms consignment by agent David Menary of Rockton, Ont. The colt is from the first crop of sire Big Jim and is the first foal out of the Dragon Again mare Goddesss Princess, who is a half-sister to the likes of Goddesss Justin ($451,482 - 1:49.4), Michaels Western ($403,288 - 1:51), Jacobs Western ($385,228 - 1:52), Allies Western ($306,245 - 1:51.2) and Justins Western ($297,037 - 1:52).

Mayhem Seelster, Hip 54, rounded out the top three highest priced yearlings of the sale at $55,000. Another Seelster Farms-bred, the Mach Three filly is the first foal out of the McArdle mare Macapela Rose and was purchased by agent Bryan Montgomery of Cream Ridge, New Jersey. The filly's dam is a half-sister to Machapelo ($596,353 - 1:51.2), Resistence Futile ($277,078 - 1:49.1) and Capela ($104,190 - 1:53.1).

A total of 144 yearlings were sold for $2,202,400, producing an average price of $15,294. Last year, the average price was $13,524 with 225 yearlings sold for $3,043,000 over two sessions.
