Driver Scott Zeron dominated Friday's 11-race card at Mohawk Racetrack, winning five of his nine drives.
Zeron earned his first win of the night with Miss Machqueen ($10.80) circling the second race field to prevail by a neck for trainer Tony O'Sullivan. The Oakville, Ont. resident returned to victory lane two races later when Gregg McNair trainee Stonebridge Adore ($16.40) was second-placed-first after an interference disqualification.
Frisky Magic ($3.80) later overcame an outside post 10 start to win the sixth race by more than six lengths with Zeron teaming for Per Henriksen. That was the start of three consecutive wins for the 24-year-old reinsman as he was carried right back to the winner's circle by the Casie Coleman-conditioned Wanna Rock N Roll ($7.20) and then David Menary trainee Tea Party Princess ($4.20).
Zeron currently ranks second in the Mohawk driving standings to reigning Driver of the Year Sylvain Filion, who won three races on the Friday card. With 104 victories at Mohawk so far this season, Zeron trails Filion by just four wins.
Zeron is among the nation's top five winningest drivers of 2013 with 238 Canadian victories to his credit.
