The 2013 Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale was held on Friday, Oct. 11 at the Crapaud Agriplex in P.E.I. with Bull Dragon earning the highest bid of the day.
Selling as Hip 109, Bull Dragon was purchased for $27,000 by Randy Van Meer of Bowmanville, Ont. The colt is sired by Dragon Again and out of millionaire The Panderosa's full-sister, Cheyenne Sabrina. Bull Dragon is a full-sibling to Cheyenne Knight (1:50.4 - $350,847) and half-brother to Historic Stakes winner McVita Belle (1:53.3 - $93,530).
Fightmaster, Hip 98, was purchased for $24,000 by Charlottetown's Chestnut Ventures and Mike MacGuigan. The Art Colony colt is out of $479,707-earner Ardor Chymes. He is a half-brother to Ardor Inmotion (1:54.4 - $103,284).
Pictonian Basil, Hip 71, rounded out the top three highest priced yearlings of the sale, selling for $13,000. The Western Paradise-Southview Selena colt was purchased by Daniel Ross of Belfast, P.E.I. He is a half-brother to Atlantic Breeders Crown champion Southview Special (1:55.1 - $86,132) and Ross's Sunday 'Crown' starter Pictonian Sareta.
