Slipinsidewayz ($6.60) and Victor Kirby were a 1:57.4 winner in the $110,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) final for two-year-old pacing fillies on Tuesday (Oct. 10) at Harrington Raceway.
Owned and trained by Bryan Truitt, Slipinsidewayz (sired by Badlands Hanover) was a one-length winner on the front end for her second straight victory. Jett Propelled was second with Novas Baby Girl third.
In the $50,000 Kathleen Cain, Tae ($3) and Tony Morgan prevailed in 1:52.2, equalling her lifetime mark at age eight. The homebred Im Gorgeous mare set all the fractions and maintained a comfortable lead at the wire over Southwind Mina and Shield Maiden. The win was her fifth of the year in 18 starts for owner/trainer Brenda Teague.
The race was named in honour of Cain, who worked as a receptionist at Harrington for nearly 50 years. She was in the winner’s circle for the blanket presentation, joined by friends and family.
Tyler and Brendan Davis' Seamslilsassy ($7.80, Allan Davis) won the $20,000 DSBF filly consolation in 1:58.4.
Corey Callahan had three wins on the card to give him eight wins over the last two cards.
Live harness racing will continue Monday through Wednesday until Oct. 18.
