Visible Gold notched his third straight victory — and 24th over the past two seasons — when he followed live cover and scored in Friday’s $18,000 Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Dave Palone found a seat fourth for Visible Gold in deference to a hot early pace and moved the six-year-old Bettors Delight-Gabrielle gelding behind the first-over cover of Southern Allie. Visible Gold shed his cover into the final turn and rolled home in 1:51.2, a length ahead of Carols Comet. Major Belle finished third.
Ron Burke trains Visible Gold, who extended his career bankroll to $342,500, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and RTC Stables.
Aaron Merriman drove five winners and Mike Wilder three on the 15-race card.
