‘Nitelife’ Stays Sharp At Pocono

On Thursday morning at Pocono Downs, champion three-year-old pacing filly I Luv The Nitelife showed she loves the daylife as well, as she stayed sharp for her $500,000 Breeders Crown test (on October 19) by putting forth a dominating mile of 1:52.4 in qualifying action.

Tim Tetrick sent I Luv The Nitelife straight to the lead from Post 6 for trainer Chris Ryder. The sophomore pacing lass went on to post splits of :29, :57.4, and 1:25.4 before finishing things up with a solid, 27-second final panel.

Another Breeders Crown entrant that looked to be in top form during the morning session was the freshman Donato Hanover gelding Don Dorado. After having started from Post 1, Don Dorado recorded a wire-to-wire win in 1:55.4 for driver Tim Tetrick and trainer Robert Baggitt Jr. The connections of Don Dorado recently elected to accept a bye directly into his Breeders Crown final.
