Tim Tetrick drove the winners of both $27,778 divisions of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Harrington Raceway, piloting Just Applause and Odds On Put Option to victory.
Just Applause was a 1:55 winner in the faster split. The daughter of Hes Watching-Rock Me Baby was fourth through the first-half fractions of :28.2 and :57, then moved first-over heading to three-quarters in 1:26.3. She raced gamely, applying pressure to pacesetter Warrens Charm (Art Stafford Jr.) before edging clear in deep-stretch to prevail by a neck. Warrens Charm, who finished second, took the first defeat of her career. Lovers Cay (Mark King) completed the triactor.
Just Applause broke her maiden in her third outing for trainer Linda Toscano and owners Let It Ride Stables Inc. and Carl Howard. She returned $2.80.
Odds On Put Option started the stakes action with a 1:55.4 triumph. Tetrick moved her out of third after splits of :28.3 and :58.4, and she motored to the front past three-quarters in 1:27.4. She then sailed to a 2-1/2-length score over Meemaws Column (Russell Foster), with Philly View (Allan Davis) third.
Odds On Put Option ($3) was successful in her first start. The Hes Watching-Odds On Hollywood filly is trained by Scott Di Domenico for Odds On Racing.
DSBF stakes action continues on Wednesday with a quartet of divisions for trotters. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
Barton Dalious won three races on the card. Jason Thompson and Troy Beyer joined Tetrick with a double.
