Donna Messick’s Little Miss Peyton ($2.10, Corey Callahan) was a dominant 1:56.2 winner and the fastest of a trio of two-year-old Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) filly pacing divisional winners on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Harrington Raceway.
The Papa Ray-sired filly was an open-length winner over Sweet Samsara and Mimosa On The Key. Little Miss Peyton won her third win in six career starts, and she was one of four winners on the card for trainer Les Givens.
George And Tina Dennis Racing and The Wiz Kids Stable’s Im Won Last Wiser ($4.80, Montrell Teague) prevailed in the second split with a 1:58.3 triumph over Valentina Station and Tilted Crown. The Badlands Hanover filly surged first-over on the final turn and wore down Valentina Station late for her first career win for trainer Joe Columbo.
The final DSBF split went to Jo Ann Looney-King’s Immaculate Inning ($9, Ross Wolfenden), who won in 1:58.3 for trainer Jim King Jr. over Bella Artiste and Mornin Merle. The Roddys Bags Again filly picked up her first career win.
In the $30,405 Free-For-All Mares Handicap Pace, Jim Magno and Joe Fonte’s Incaseyoudidntknow ($3.60, Jim Morand) was a 1:53.2 winner over Odds On Hail Mary and Melody Hanover. The Givens trainee notched her seventh win of the season and second recently from post eight.
Round two of DSBF action for two-year-old trotters highlights the Wednesday, Oct. 2 program. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
